Our family has had Danes for thirty years.  I started breeding twenty years ago with a black female Dane, called Taz.  She was so special to me.  Taz came to college with me and even rode on the back of a tractor!  She had several litters in her lifetime of eleven years.  We had kept one of her blue girls, because the blue color was so unique.  At this point, I really started to understand more about breeding and what to look for in a mating pair.  I also believe that a natural mating is easier and produces better puppies in the long run.

Belle, Taz's daughter, gave birth to a very nice pup and we named him Sterling.  He was my "Sean Connery" of Danes.  He would sit with a regal pose and just needed his tux.  He actually ended up in a couple of commercials and a few advertisements.  He passed not that long ago in January of 2008.   It was heartbreaking to loose him.

We looked all over and found a delightful nephew of his.  We wanted to keep Taz's, Belle's, and Sterling's bloodline alive.  It is funny how I can see Taz and Sterling in our stud Diesel. He is joyous!  He loves water, jumps, plays soccer, and he is my "surfer dude".  He is 165lbs and just loves people.  He is OFA certified and has his eyes, cardiac testing done.  We have had no genetic issues in the twenty years that I have been breeding!

Rynka is our female from Washington State.  She is 1/4 European and is a large female.  She is 145lbs and over two years old.  She is calm and sweet and a great mother!  She is such a delight!    She brings to us the best of both worlds in a way, still the dry mouth Dane qualities, but a diverse genetic background.  I believe that is important in breeding when there is only 4 percent of Danes that are blue; you breed to close to your own bloodline and you will start to see health issues.  Rynka has passed OFA, cardiac, and eye testing.  She comes from a Grand Champion Sire!

Böe is the new addition to our Dane family and is Rynka's sister, but from another litter eighteen months apart.  We had just loved Rynka so much that when we heard about another possible litter from the same parents, we weren't sure about having four great danes, but we were sure that having another dog like Rynka would be a blessing.  Böe is an amazing dog, she has her moments of high-energy, but then she is calm and will just look at you like someone you have known a long time.

Scrappy is out of Wisconsin/ Michigan.  She had given us five litters and is now retired!  She has been a fantastic mother! Many of puppy photos on this website are hers!  She comes from a very good line of show dogs.  She is 165lbs and is very lovable.  She kept some of the puppy weight over the years, and is currently on a diet.  She loves to lean on you and just wants to be petted.

All four of our Danes are considered dry mouth Danes.  Meaning they don't have the slobber that is usually associated with many Danes. With only having a Rynka right now as our breeding female, we give our puppies 100% attention.  Our dogs give birth in a maternity ward that I set up off of our kitchen.  I sleep with her and the puppies for about the first two weeks, making sure that they are getting enough milk and keeping a close eye on their development.  During their progress I e-mail each family about their puppy and send weekly photos.  I do not ship my puppies by plane.  Families are welcome to make travel arrangements to meet me and pick up a puppy after I have approved an application.  I have had many families take vacations around the pickup of their puppy.

Diesel is also available to sire other litters and we can make arrangements for a natural mating.

I have also spent the last fifteen years as a photographer and love taking pictures of pets and pet lovers.  I can travel to your home to make your pet more at ease at getting their picture taken!
